Work Experience

Artist at summer camp- Summers 2006-2010

Art in the Park summer day camp (Trinity Bellwoods Park), Working with children 6-12 years of age, organizing and executing arts-focused activities as well as assisting with the set-up and clean-up of the camp. I assisted the kids with drawing and other artistic exercises, and found ways to make the process fun and engaging for them while also teaching them to communicate visually.

Volunteer at School /Orphanage- Summer 2005

Assisted at Parikrma school/orphanage in Bangalore, India, Summer 2005. Tutored students in Math and English, and created educational visual displays for the classroom.

Skills and interests

Computers: Skilled in Adobe Suite CS programs (Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign), using a Wacom tablet. Some knowledge of Adobe Flash.

Fine art: Trained in traditional artistic techniques using a variety of mediums: painting in oils, acrylics, watercolours, gouache; printmaking; bookbinding; pencils and inks; markers, with a strong focus on narrative and sequential art. Developing a graphic novel of almost 450 pages here, as well as having completed numerous shorter narratives.

Web: Basic html skills; four years updating and maintaining a website devoted to sequential art, as well as an online portfolio.
